A Look at Photography Post Production
In the world of fashion, high end publication and production many (if not most) photographers create incredible photographs with evocative imagery based off of their vision and composition skills but do not handle any of the post production work. Unbeknownst to most people there is a person whose sole job is to "retouch" the photos for editorials and advertisements, cleaning up skin, colors, clothing, hair, lighting, etc. using Photoshop or whichever photo manipulation software they prefer.
I thought it would be interesting to show a before and after of one of my own photos to demonstrate the difference between the original composition and the post production image. Though I would not place my photographs on the level of a professional publication photographer's just yet, you can still see the power software like Photoshop yields and maybe it will give a better understanding of what you are actually looking at when you open up a magazine.
Thanks for looking!
